E-Tabs are Changing

the Game in Selma

by Michelle LaVoie, American Legion Post 437 Finance Officer in Selma, Indiana.

In a very short time, e-tabs have made a remarkable and noticeable difference for American Legion Post 437. What began as a hopeful opportunity has quickly become one of the most impactful tools we have had to strengthen our post, support veterans and expand our presence in the Selma community.

The additional income generated through e-tabs has allowed us to do things we have not been able to in years. These funds have helped us improve our post building, bolster operations and create a more welcoming environment for veterans, families and community members who rely on us.

More importantly, this added stability is helping us expand our outreach. With e-tabs, we are better equipped to respond when our community is in need, whether that means supporting a local family, assisting a veteran in crisis or stepping up during emergencies. The resources now available to us will help solidify our presence in the community for years to come.

One program that has especially benefited is our Hogs for Heroes initiative. Thanks to the funding generated by e-tabs, we are preparing to launch our second year stronger than ever. This event directly supports our partners at The Journey Home in Winchester, helping veterans struggling to get back on their feet find stability and secure employment. Revenue from e-tabs is helping ensure this mission can also continue to grow.

For a small post like ours, e-tabs are far more than gaming. They offer revitalization, service and hope. E-tabs have given Post 437 the ability to stand taller, serve better and build a stronger future for the veterans and community members who count on us.

We are proud of the progress we have made so far and excited for what lies ahead.
